This last full month of school has gone by so quickly that I have neglected my little blog. Since I last wrote, we had our Mother's day program, Grandparent's Day, Field trip to the Barnstormer's and field day! PHEWF!
Our Mother's Day program went off without a hitch! The kids did a great job reciting their poems and songs. We had alot of fun with the gifts we gave to our moms too. We wrote persuasive pieces about why our mothers are #1, gave them a "personality purse" and a special flower! It was very special to have my own mom and grandmom attend as well!
While Fractions can be scary for some kiddos, we tried to make it more fun by becoming professional pizza makers. Students got an order slip and were required to please the customer by putting the correct fraction of toppings on the pizza. They "looked" delicious!
Besides budding pizzeria owners, we have also become avid writers. We are studying Lancaster County history and wrote a piece as if we were Hans Herr. They had to discuss why they moved to Lancaster County and what 5 essential items they would bring with them.
In honor of Memorial Day we also wrote letters to soldiers, thanking them for all they do for us!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day holiday-- enjoy some hotdogs, pooltime, and extra time with family and friends!
PS: Enjoy some of these sweet/hilarious student notes!
