The Drama Queen 2017

What a beautiful day! After spending most of my Saturday enjoying the sunshine, I am starting to organize things for next week:)

This was such a busy week so I only had a time to snap a few pictures. Here are some of my favorite things this week:

1. Synonym Rolls--- These were passed along to me from a fellow teacher and I LOVE them. I used them as one of my centers in reading focus. The rolls had a word and the students had to match the roll with a plate who had its matching synonym. 

We also started our money unit this week. I changed up one of behavior systems in class to reflect this unit. Instead of our usual "Bravo Board" points each student received a wallet. They each started out with a variety of coins totaling 25 cents and have the ability to earn extra coins for great behaviors. I also have students owe coins to our classroom bank when they show some poor behavior choices. At this point in the school year it is fun to change it up, and the kids love counting the money in their wallets to see how much they have saved up by the end of the week. 

We have also been learning a fun poem to help us memorize the value of each coin. Here is a clip of us performing the poem-- they really have it down!
