Happy Monday Everyone!

It's officially December which means it is Christmas CRUNCH Time! I was the last of all the teachers in my hallway to decorate for Christmas (these ladies are on the ball, having their stuff up before December 1st) and I needed to get myself movin'. I put up my Gingerbread man bulletin board this weekend and got some tinsel to decorate our classroom door. Lets just say Room 112 is looking quite festive!

We are finishing up a subtraction unit this week. It is tricky for first graders to switch back and forth between addition and subtraction. I absolutely LOVE using games to enhance basic fact practice. I've included a *freebie* below for you to print out and play as a subtraction game. Students can use a paper clip/pencil on the first spinner (with Larger #'s) to write the first addend, and the second spinner (with smaller #'s) for the second addend. Students will then figure out the difference and will color that number of squares on their game board. The first person to color in all their squares wins!

I'm headed out to go Zumba away some of these holiday calories :)
I'll be back to post later with some more of our Christmas activities!
