Hello there everyone!
We had a nice long fall break but are now back in action!! We started cursive handwriting this week. We are doing a brand new program called "Handwriting Without Tears".I love using the "Digital Teaching Tools" section on their website. It allows me to use our classroom technology to show students how to trace on the projector, and then students get to practice on their chalkboards and in their workbooks. It is also a great developmental program because this cursive is less slanted and an easier transition from print. We will also be talking about pencil grip. Ask your student to show you the cool trick we learned about grip, to make sure they are holding the pencil correctly (video example coming soon!)
The kids are so motivated to begin!

Many families were also able to attend our school "Family Reading Night" We had attendees circle through a variety of different stations.
1. Flashlight reading in the library
2. Storywalk-visiting various classrooms for part of a story
3. Photo booth-Dress like a popular book character!
4. Book Bingo
We also had an awesome time at Race for Education! I had some of the CUTEST photos but unfortunately my I-Phone broke and I lost all my photos :( SAD! The Race was wonderful and the kids loved "passing" their teacher around the track. Lets just say I am more of an artistic type rather than an athlete, ha!
Hopefully next time I will have more photos/videos to share with you!
