Hippity Hoppity Easter is on its Way!!!

Happy Spring and Easter everyone!

We have been so busy with various Easter and Spring projects this past week. When I went to take Easter pictures with my family my battery was low because I had been snapping pictures in school all week!!:)

We began by making some bunny buckets. My cooperating teacher had been saving the large cans throughout the year and many parents helped out by bringing some in. Materials for this craft were very simple: White paper to cover the can,  scraps of blue, pink and white for the ears and eyes, and a black marker to draw on whiskers!
We spoiled our kids and gave them some Easter treats! These treats went inside the buckets for easy transportation home on the bus.

*** I also got this note from one of my kiddos--- You can't tell from the note but we try our hardest to be healthy, ha ha! We do like to treat ourselves on special holidays though:)
We also made some boo-boo bunnies out of wash cloths... Super cute and easy to make. We took a few kids to the back table at a time so I could manage the hot glue gun. We loved how they turned out!
Here is a site that explains how easy they are to make: http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/boo-boo-bunny-660989/

Our Easter Kid-Writing was also super fun. I hid plastic eggs around the room that were filled with different story starters. The kids were told to find just 1 egg, and then use the sentence inside to start their story. There were about 3 different sentence starter options so as the teacher I could keep track of what my students were writing about!

We also made our own bunny nests out of paper plates and spoons.  I had such great listeners that day that we finished this craft in record time! We then used the extra time to make up our very own stories with our rabbits and use them as props for story-telling. We encouraged the students to go home and share these stories with their families!:)

Phewf! Sorry for such a long post but all of these activities went so well and were loved by the little ones! I hope you can use some of these ideas in your classroom:)
