Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!!
What a fun celebration we had today for Dr. Suess-- so much planned, but it all went so smoothly! Our school ran Dr. Suess stations all morning where kids made the fun Suess headbands pictured below (the front is a hat template and the back is a sentence strip where kids wrote one sentence from a Suess book), competed in an obstacle course in the Gym, watched Suess movies, and had some read-aloud fun in the library. These stations took up half our day but when we got back to our room for the afternoon we did some Suess math activities, including Goldfish graphing and tallying! We used the Rainbow colored Goldfish for both this math activity and for our craft, Goldfish Aquariums. These aquariums went perfectly with our reading of "1 Fish 2 Fish Red Fish Blue Fish". We also used Suess worksheets for our morning and "Busy Bee" work.... There was a wonderful free TPT source for all things source at http://fun-in-first.blogspot.com/search/label/Dr.%20Seuss
What did everyone else do to celebrate Suess this week? We had to put some of Suess activities into next week's schedule... there is just too much!! Next week we tackle making Ooblek! I'll report back with how that goes!
Miss O.
