Busy, Busy, Busy

Last week was my first week of "solo" teaching! Everything went very well (Thankfully!!!) and I have a whole bunch of project ideas I did with the kids to share from this busy week....

1. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Class Book
Below are some of the pages from our Cloudy book. The kids loved this activity because so many of them have seen the recent animated version. I began by reading them the story and then had them create their own picture of something they chose to fall from the sky (my example being cupcakes... yum!) We then made our pictures into a class book

2. Fraction Pizza
As a fun end of the unit activity we made our own fraction pizzas! Student had to roll dice to figure out how many toppings they had to add. These turned out to be a super cute classroom decoration as well!

3. End of the Year Book- This is an assignment my cooperating teacher introduced to the class this week. I loved it and will definitely be using it in the future. Students are asked to complete one scrapbook page at home about themselves and things they like. She compiles all pages and puts together a class book so she can flip back and remember all the students from her years of teaching! What nice memories!

4. Grandparent Letters
These turned out super cute and are perfect decorations for Grandparents day. We backed these on construction paper and surrounded them with pictures of the students and their Grandparents that they brought in from home.

5. We also started some Easter crafts this week.... Check out our Duck/Bunnies (Read the book to go along with it too!) and our Marble painted Easter Eggs!
The Duck bunny cut out is a flip flop project. If you flip the design one way it looks like a duck, and if you flip it over to the back it looks like a bunny! The kids love this!
