Each week a new student in our class is chosen to be "In the Spotlight". They get to bring pictures and items in that are important to them and share it with the class. The students get so excited when it is their turn and I have enjoyed learning more and more about each individual student. This week it was my turn and I definitely think it helped me bridge an even deeper connection with my students, especially as a new person in their room.
My coop takes notes of the things each student shares and types it up on the computer. At the end of the year a big book of all the Spotlights is put together and given to each student. What a great keepsake for each student!
